i am scholarship
will.i.am created the i.am scholarship to provide future leaders and innovators in Film & Television, Journalism, Computer Science and New Media with financial assistance for the entirety of their post-secondary education, as well as professional opportunities at Dipdive.com upon the completion of their course of study. More than just financial aid, the i.am scholarship is an investment in our future.
We know our children need an education -- and not just a high school education. In order to make significant contributions to our society, most of our children will first need to complete college. However, many students don’t have the resources to get a college education.
Last year will.i.am launched the i.am scholarship on the Oprah Show and provided a 4-year scholarship to four students who were in dire need of financial assistance to attend college.
In 2010 the i.am scholarship will be awarded to students applying to programs in Computer Technology, Film and Television, Journalism and New Media and 100% of the donor's proceeds from this event will go to i.am scholarship to support the cause.
